Care for your favourites: clothing, shoes and bags
Use care labels and material-specific instructions to clean, dry and store your clothes, shoes and bags with attention.
Good care starts with understanding the material. Read the label for washing temperature, ironing and dry-cleaning instructions. Fabrics that look similar can need different treatment. Before tackling a stain, check the maker’s advice and test any unfamiliar product on a small, hidden area.
Dry and fold knitwear as directed instead of stretching it on a hanger. Use suitable hangers that support the shoulders of jackets and coats. Never put damp clothes into a closed wardrobe. Strong heat and direct sunlight can affect some colours and surfaces, so choose the drying method to suit the fabric.
Do not treat leather, suede and synthetic shoes or bags with the same cleaner. Suede may need a suitable brush, while smooth leather needs products recommended for that finish. Air shoes after use and store bags without overfilling them, supporting their shape. Regular checks and appropriate repairs can help favourite pieces remain useful for longer.
